Ode to My Wife the Quilter
She learned to quilt on Monday.
Her stitches all were very fine.
She forgot to thaw out dinner.
so we went out to dine.
She quilted miniatures on Tuesday.
she says they are a must.
They really were quite lovely.
But she forgot to dust.
On Wednesdays it was a sampler.
She says stipling’s fun.
What highlights! What Shadows!
But the laundry wasn’t done.
Her patches were on Thursday –
Green, yellow, blue and red.
I guess she was really engrossed;
She never made the bed. It was wall hangings on Friday,
In colors she adores.I t never bothered her at all,
The crumbs on the floors. I found a maid on Saturday.
My week is now complete. My wife can quilt the hours away;
The house will still be neat.
Well, it’s already Sunday.
I think I’m about to wilt. I cursed, I raved, I ranted,
The MAID has learned to QUILT!

Believe it or not it is time again for the quilting update!
The weather has turned very warm the last week ,so I now have some hrs to quilt again in the afternoon when it is too warm to work outside.
Here is where I was three weeks ago..
I was able to do the other half of the quilt as pictured above,rolled the quilt and am half way again done with the purple/black and white spike swag.
This photo shows the quilting pattern on the spikes.
If I can keep up with this pace I might just get it done by Christmas.🙂
Here is the list of others that are joining in on the Hand quilt along.

That poem cracked me up–I resemble those remarks! And, if you recall, the maid I got is a robot vacuum and she will never learn to quilt! Your progress is amazing–I love seeing all those points lined up. Great work!

I love the poem. I tend to quilt or maybe clean the house when it is too hot to be outside in the garden.

I should do the cleaning more often during the heat of the day, but quilting usually puts up a fuss if I keep away too long.. 😉

What a funny poem, loved it! Your progress is so amazing, you really motor along! We had rain this week, so I got stuff done, but not as much as that. Beautiful as always, I really like that lime green popping out, great contrast.
