That is what happen to two old block tenant houses that were just down the road a few miles. I had been wanting to get a photo to draw the two cute little houses.. I procrastinated much to my dismay ,when discovering them were totally demolished .
It is amazing how many old buildings are left set ,some are mowed around as they slowly fall apart, others are barely to be seen through high weeds. I find them so interesting as they are like ghost of the past.
I so enjoy drawing in graphite,it seems graphite and old buildings were meant to go together. Agree ?

This is drawing is of an old home in here Ga ,the photo that I used as photo reference was taken by Brian Brown ,which he has kindly let me use.

As you notice the House was boarded up, but I didn’t have the heart to board it up in the drawing,the house begged for some light to flow in through the windows again.
Those are a real delight to see again!

You have come a long way with your drawing 🙂 Its a nice record to keep, lots churches I visit have drawing and paintings of the church on the walls…..I like to photograph them, as some are painted before photography started 🙂

Have you ever thought of doing the drawings as an embroidery picture ~ entirely in black thread? Lovely art work! I love old buildings and am always sad to see them removed. Thanks for keeping the past love in your part of the ‘woods’ ~ Sharon

One of the best things about making art, is you can create your own vision, not just copy “reality.” By opening the windows in your little house, you did just that–and made it a happier, more pleasing place!

Your drawing speaks of a different era for that little house, one where children played, meals were shared and life was lived…much better than its current reality! Your drawing has really come along from those first sketches. Your practice is really paying off!

Thank you! I gave the little house ,and us a Dream of those days , reality sometimes needs to be soften.🙂 the more I practice the more I’m enjoying it, not so intimidated,Or eraser happy as I was.
