April 9… pencil sketches

I thought that life for me would slow down a bit now that I have only two of the children at home, and though the second daughter is still here at home , she is not dependent on me taking care of her,why I think she helps me out more than I do her.

I thought I was going to have time on my hands after the youngest son got married,so I decided to learn to draw ,something I’ve always wanted to do. Well, that lots of time on my hands is apparently still hiding for I haven’t found it…. I did grab a little time here and there to do a few sketches. A pencil is easy to carry around with a notebook, more so than other drawing material.

The first sketch is of the cabin ,hubby and I stayed in for a few days of get away.

The next two are drawn from photos taken by a very interesting blogger that I follow…

One of these days , I’m hoping to go back to color… when I find that time on hand.😁

  1. Does life ever slow down? Do we ever, really, get free time? I’m beginning to wonder. I’m glad you’re finding time for the drawing around all your obligations. It must be a great way to sit quietly and really notice details. And the idea of drawing the cabin where you stayed is great, better than a photo!

  2. I am glad you were able to find some time to sketch because they are quite remarkable. Please frame 🙂 I also hoped over to the link you shared and she does take amazing ‘snaps’ as she calls them ~ Thank you for sharing ~ Sharon

    1. Thank you ,Kathy! I wouldn’t be surprised if that one got frame,LouAnn loves to decorate the house with the changes of seasons, and she is forever raiding something of mine to use… maybe I should say both daughters do!😁

  3. Oh wow you done really well with the church, its not easy to get them into proportion. Love the trees and fences from our visit to Yorkshire, thank you for the link, just really glad you like them all 🙂

    1. Thank you! Still don’t always get proportions right… it’s improving though. I do so enjoy seeing all the places you visit, places I’ll probably never visit in my life time, at least I’m got a glimpse!

      1. Thats how I feel, Steve will not fly anymore, so the chances of coming to the States again are zero. So its nice to see places that I too will never get to see, only through you eyes or I should say lens and drawings 🙂

      2. Oh you should get some good photos, hope you have a lovely time, even though its business. We drove up to Liverpool today for business, it about a 5 hour drive, and then 5 hours back. It was interesting as I haven’t been there for a few years 🙂
