Apr.5 Hand quilt along….

Just a quick peek into my quilt project,I won’t keep you long.. well, to be honest… I’m camping and short on time. There’s so much more exciting things then social media to do today. I’ll catch up tomorrow with you quilting folks .

My new project…..

This top has some issues as you can see. A lot of the white blocks are rather gathered. I could have taken them out ,cut them down to right size, somehow I felt like this was someone hard work sewn into this top. I think with a heavier quilting pattern some of the gathers with be taken up. I love it the way it is , so if it is still very imperfect that is fine by me.
Some more photos of the makings and I did start at the corner.
Once again there will be no time frame as to when it will be finished.

And the border
The old girl is ready to be worked on.
Her age… a good 120 years. She is definitely titled to a few wrinkled!😃

    1. How do I do it? Search eBay until I found something that catches my eye ,then I watch it to see how well it sells… like the this one ,I think I watched it for about three weeks with no body interested…probably because of the gathered center, and some blocks that are off. We did have fun,and the time just sped by. We even had fresh caught fish over the fish.

    1. And I drooled over that top for three weeks before I brought it… I really didn’t need anymore old tops.🤷🏻‍♀️ camping trip was great! Perfect weather, fresh caught fish over the fire, and marshmallows….

      1. We are all fine,so grateful for that. I do miss the children that can’t come home right now though. I’m not going to complain as they are all healthy. Hubby still had plenty of work beings he is a essential worker. The emergency calls for doors that need help so that buildings can be secure are always there.

  1. This quilt is so beautiful! It’s age evokes thoughts of the life of each fabric. I personally like a wrinkled quilt. The wrinkles are soft and add texture. You are smart to leave them. I especially like how you give them validity with the age of the quilt. I am looking forward to seeing how you Quilt it:). Have fun camping!!

    1. It is that! Wrinkles do add character, and with age the wrinkles grow more special. My grandma had wrinkles around her eyes , I always thought they were so lovely as they made her eyes twinkle. We did have fun,and the time went by so fast!
