Oct.11…Hand quilt along update

Even though the sewing machine was invented in 1790, hand-quilting was still more popular for the next 100 years.

Weather is very pleasant here, for which I’m thankful for July through the middle of September arent my favorite months.

I didn’t work on my quilt as much as last time .. honestly I always have hopes of doing more than before … often that doesn’t happen. One thing nice about quilting it waits very patiently.

Here’s where I left off last time…

Just a little on the end to finish then ready to roll

It’s rolled and just an bit worked on.

I also did up a stack of papers to work on my many scraps again this fall and winter.
The log cabin block uses up lots of scraps, and in the best way.. at least I think so.😀

I have two boxes full of scraps that I will be working on.

That’s it for me. Happy quilting until next time.

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.  If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.

  1. I love your quilting set up. I so wish I had the room for something like this, it wold make it so much easier to do the larger quilts. I use a large hoop. I think a log cabin pattern for a quilt will be perfect for your scraps 🙂

    1. Thank you! That room was the boys room .. sad to say they grew up.. so I did to fill it up with my sewing. I do use a hoop for smaller quilts that I like to do in the winter . Feels good to have a quilt on the lap on a cold evening.
