I did quilt a little between mowing, and another project that I’m working on. This summer we have been blessed with rain, and the little raised bed is doing great this year. .. as is the grass in the yard. Weeds ..well they grow with or without rain.😁
Update… the black shows were I was the yellow marks what I quilted in three weeks, not much but I’m happy with it.

Here’s the other project. LouAnn and I found some old sheets stuffed in a closet. It’s time to put them back in use in a different form. These rugs are so nice to have on hand.

The gray fabric is hubby’s old pants , makes a very strong webbing.
This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another. If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below
Hi ~ those summer time, not really chores (weeding, mowing) get us outside and enjoying . Glad to see you made some progress on the quilt – it’s really tough this time of year. Love the rug project – what a great idea!

Let’s just say I have my farmers tan with all the outside work. Just discovered today my pear tree is ready to be picked. Pear sauce will be in the making tomorrow. My grandfather used to make the rugs, that’s where I learned how. I always think of him when making one.

I always wondered how the rugs were made. So you have a loom or stand to construct them on? Did you buy it or make it?

The loom is made by hubby, it is a really simple loom with just 4 boards, two steel rods and nails with small heads…finishing nails I think they were.

I thought about getting a loom and doing some rug making, but maybe in 10 years when I am caught up with my quilting! LOL. This will be a nice rug!

How cool is that?! You have been so busy this summer, I’m amazed you are able to get any stitching done!

Look at all those lovely colors together in the quilt. I just love it! Beautiful work!
And rugs too!! You’re an amazing and multi-talented woman! (I don’t think you have enough hours in the day!)

Thank you!! Those rugs are fun to do,and they use up a lot of unwanted fabric. My days do go by rather quickly.😀

I’m fascinated by the webbing. I’ve learned so much from crafters like you. And KerryCan. Remember “Love Those Hands at Home”? How I was she was still blogging!

Hi Deb, I just blogged for the first time since 2017. I have left the corporate work force! I linked over from your old blog and just subscribed. I am looking forward to reading your past posts. I wonder how long before my original blog site reaches it’s max? I will not worry about it. When it happens it happens and I will do what you have done. I am so happy you are quilting. My father used to do braided rugs. I have one of his here that has not been finished. Theresa from quiltedthrifted and Flickr.
