August 14, Hand quilt along update….

What a beautiful weekend this has turned out to be! Weather heat has been much reduced to 80’s with nights in the low sixties.

I am happy with the progress I had on Aunties quilt. I was able to finish a quarter of the quilt , I’m hoping to do another quarter or at least close too it.

Where I start from last update …

Two stars done and gray borders

Today four stars and borders finished.

Total of six stars done and working on the seventh.

That’s it for me . Happy stitching !

A hearty welcome to Cathy !so glad you’ve joined us.👏

  1. So glad to read your weather is cooling down and beautiful. You doubled your effort this posting, you’re on the perfect quilting roll. Loving the colors of this beauty. The gray sashing and border really elevates this to whole new category of beautiful 🙂

    1. Thank you! Gray is really a great color to use with older fabrics, I found other colors often want to clash. Hopefully I can keep n the roll with this quilt.

  2. What a lovely quilt! I really like the effect of the diamond (square?) quilting in the borders and the switch to a floral fill for around the stars and in the setting stones. I think this is a hand quilting plan that I could accomplish even with my tired eyes and arthritic hands. Though I’m going to try it out on a table topper or baby sized quilt first.
