March 28…Hand quilt along update….

I have a new kind of daffodil this spring, isn’t she a beauty!🥰

My youngest daughter Skylie.

Time for the update, now that I got that MomMom bragging done.😁

Last time I was taking the quilt out of the frame for lap quilting. I was able to work on it more often this time around in the evenings ,and keeping Leona company at the same time. The green star is where I was and the hoop of course is where I am now.

If I do a row every three weeks.. In nine weeks I could finish. A very nice goal that I will try for but no promises for spring ,summer work have begun in full swing!

March 7….Hand quilt along update

Spring is starting to arrive here in the south..

It is good to see the spring flowers starting to bloom.

I didn’t get very far on hand quilting this time. Leona’s health issues have taken a step backward making her care more time consuming. Her voice is very soft making it hard for me to hear her when she is in need when I am back in the sewing room. So I took the quilt that I was working on out of the frame, and prepared it for the lap hoop. I finished the end part …

This brings me to the half way mark.

Here are some photos of the quilt that are finished.

And back
That’s it for me this round, please take a look at what the others have accomplished .

Feb. 14 … Hand quilt along update

On July 17, 2018 ,I posted about a dirty box of scraps that I bought off of eBay. Here’s a photo of the scraps….

The back
It is a very soft quilt that takes me back to the many years ago when I visited Grandma ,staying over night . If was so exciting to crawl under her quilts .

I was going to mark another little top but decided not too ,for this summer is going to be very busy. I will just work on the one in the frame for it will soon be warm enough in that room to work again.

So until next update … happy stitching… keep warm or dry.❤️

Jan.25… Hand quilt along update

I’m a day late on the update, but I’m not feeling to guilty.🤓 I had company…oh it was wonderful! My brother and his wife, nephew and his wife stopped in to visit. I haven’t seen my brother for a year. It was so good to give them all a hug again!! We have been in contact with each other throughout this virus mess but nothing is like sitting down in a chair and visiting in my living room.

Now for the update…

It has been chilly here these last few weeks ,leaving my sewing room tooooo cold to work in. That room is the coldest in winter and the coolest in summer which is nice for summer time.

So I pulled out this top to work on some more in the warm … family room where the wood stove is.😃

The top red mark shows where I started again, the bottom where I am right now. Close to a finish..👏👏

Dec.13….Hand quilt along update

Just curious… what brand of quilting needles are your favorite? I’ve tried several brands with John James needles my first go to.

The update….

The yellow is where I was… the red what I did in the last three weeks.

Close up of a few blocks in the quilt..
I also have this log cabin ready to sew together.
And here’s a photo of Bobo watching a movie with Leona. Skittles decided he really didn’t want to be in the picture.

Susannasmom’s blog posted an article on penguins watching TV during lockdown, when I mention our little birds enjoy a movie with Leona ,She requested a photo.

See y’all next year!

Dec.1 … a thanksgiving weekend …

It’s hard to believe that it’s Dec. 1 already! Thanksgiving weekend flew by way too fast.

I promised a picture of the kiffles that I make for Holidays only . I did do a post on them on my other site on. Dec. 19… Kiffles 2017..(I’m not sure how to link it though..😏 ) if you care to make them.

Here are a few snap shots of this weekend.
Nap time
Snuggles learning to leave skittles and Bobo alone. She did pretty good until they came to eat out of my hand then she was ready to remove them.
Then there was Elena time, she is such a people person .🥰
She didn’t lack in attention.
My daughter,LouAnn ,gave me these little snowmen ,so we decided to put them up above the dining room window with little lights behind them.
As I visited with the girls, my hands were busy ,as there’s a little one due to arrive this week. I’m hoping to soon have it done …just a few more rows on the lace edge.
Hubby and son were busy making knives for fun. Here’s a picture of hubby’s ,I didn’t get one of Russell’s for he took his home.
Have a blessed week ,friends.❤️

Nov. 22 …hand quilt along update …

It’s hard to believe that the holidays are rolling around again. Our oldest son is coming home for a week ,it will be so fun catching up . He lives up north a good 13 hrs away ..so when he gets time off work to come home it’s always a special time. The youngest son will also be here.👏👏

I haven’t quilted as much again these last three week. I have been picking up pecans. They are bountiful this year.

The last few years a pecan company was picking them up for us ,this year however the company isn’t taking them. So I’m picking up for the the girls, and myself… my freezer is empty of pecans no longer.

Update… here’s where I was last round doing a row then rolling…

Now where the yellow marker mark is ,is what I have finished on the roll. A close up…

Until next time

Nov. 6.. a quick update on Leona

Thank you friends for your prayers and support.❤️

Leona is starting to feel better, wanting to sit in her chair again. It has been a long three weeks with her being very listless and no appetite, then the first of last week complaining of tummy ache.. a few days later running fever.

With the fever I know I needed help! Thank the Lord the problem was easy to diagnose. Low iron count with a stomach bug….

Leona has issues with getting enough nutrients from her food,so she needs a formula, even with the formula that I give her everyday that still didn’t have enough iron for her.

Just a few days on liquid iron ,I can see her coming back to her normal self.👏👏

I’m just so thankful it wasn’t worst.

While sitting close by my girl, I was able to finish this star top.
