May 26… Hand quilt along update….

There is nothing to report on here, the Cathedral window mini quilt is still in her little basket waiting to be finished.

So close..

There has been a lot happening around here that is mentally draining.

My mom hasn’t been well for awhile, after a doctor visit it was discovered her mitral valve that had been replaced some years back was once again Harding.

Surgery was an option ,if mom wanted it done. However ,the doctor didn’t think she would make it through the surgery.

Without the surgery, she has three months or less to live. ..

What to do was a hard hard decision, but we children finally decided that whatever Mom wanted we would totally support. I told her I would rather have her die with family around her than on a cold operating table. Mom’s brothers also felt that way .

Mom then asked the doctor if that was the better way to go then surgery,he assured her that it would be. He also arranged for Hospice to visit her everyday making sure she is comfortable.

Now the waiting time.. who’d of thought that would also be hard!

Gardening is coming along good ,peas are ready to be picked this coming week. Gardening is good mental therapy! Those weeds sure are a stress relief.😁

Caroline ,our Rottie wasn’t feeling so well several months back. She was diagnosed with Pyometra, so surgery was a most for her. She is now back on her feet and doing good. It feels so good to see her happy face instead of a sad hurting one!

On a brighter note, we did get to go to PR to visit our son and his family !! It was a wonderful visit that went by waaay too fast!

I’ll get around one of these days to post about it.🙂

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.  If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.
